A seasonal treat to myself & a few select friends to welcome Spring in New England. I lived on the bank of the Connecticut River & watched each day for the shad chasing the bait fish, then headed to my fishmonger for my share of succulent shad roe. I still enjoy shad roe with friends in Boston each Spring, and am always sure to blast freeze a few extra sets to fly back home in Seattle with! Hmmm..but don't tell anyone! Shhh.
